About the Author

Three decades inside the rooms
where policy is written.

Duncan Ritchie is a former (recovering) investment banker and author of the political thriller, The Truth Chamber.

Duncan grew up on a plantation in North Borneo. After graduating from the University of Western Australia, he spent thirty years advising governments and companies on energy and infrastructure transactions and policy.

The Truth Chamber draws on those decades — a story written from inside the machinery of power, told by someone who has watched it turn.

About the Book

A thriller for the
post-truth century.

Five movements. One question that refuses an answer.

I

Election-year chaos

A nation already fractured stumbles toward the most consequential vote of the century.

II

The rise of Red Caesar

A populist demagogue weaponises grievance — and a new technology — to seize history.

III

The Truth Chamber

An AI built to verify reality becomes the most powerful instrument of distortion ever deployed.

IV

Disinformation warfare

Newsrooms collapse. Algorithms decide. Whole populations begin to remember things that never happened.

V

A global conspiracy

From Washington to Beijing, players scramble for control of a system that may already be deciding for them.

“The truth has become political…
and dangerous.”

Themes

What the book is really about.

Four currents that run beneath the plot — each one already shaping the world outside the book.

01

AI & Truth

When machines arbitrate reality, who programs the verdict?

02

Political Manipulation

The new playbook for capturing democracies from the inside.

03

Media Disinformation

Narratives engineered at industrial scale, one feed at a time.

04

Global Power

Superpowers in quiet collision over the infrastructure of belief.

Early Praise

What readers are saying.

“A confident, propulsive debut — Ritchie writes power with the ease of someone who has lived inside it.”
Sam Jordison · Jericho Writers
“Tense, intelligent, and unnervingly timely. The Truth Chamber lingers long after the last page.”
Nick Jones · Editor, Full Proof
“A genuinely modern political thriller. The kind of book the moment was waiting for.”
Duncan Berce · Author Services Australia
